Grouping Like Items
Take some time to empty all of your kitchen cabinets out and then group like items. If you have a bunch of items related to baking, pile that all together. Group dishes that are only used on occasion, like holiday glassware or any kind of seasonal item. Simply by putting all of these items together, you’ll always know where to go for what you need, which can make your life a lot easier.
Taking Advantage of Vertical Spaces
If you have the room, you can affix hooks underneath cabinets to hold mugs, or you can hang a stemware rack if you have nowhere to put all your wine glasses. Installing a ceiling rack above your kitchen island or installing a rack on any extra wall space can make it much easier to keep your pots and pans in order. For those little kitchen gadgets like oven mitts or measuring cups, adhesive hooks on the inside of cabinet or pantry doors are sometimes the best solution.
Drawer Dividers Do Wonders
If your cooking utensil drawers or even junk drawers start to get too cluttered, dividers might be the best way to get them back to being organized. Drawer dividers are great for dedicated a certain spot to everything in a drawer and you’ll also know where things are when you need them the most.
Cleaning Up Paper Clutter
After a while, lots of little papers can start to crowd your kitchen: takeout menus, coupons, notes you’ve jotted down. It can be stressful when these things start to crowd your countertops, so try using a magnetic sorter box on the side of your refrigerator. Keep each kind of paper in a different spot and you’ll never feel unorganized again!
